    Aromas of dried strawberry and blackberry, enhanced by notes of toasty oak and black pepper. On the palate, it reveals luscious vanilla, dried herbs, ripe plum, and a hint of sarsaparilla, creating a rich and complex wine experience. The wine is aged for 15 months in barrels, with 30% of the barrels being American oak. This aging process imparts a harmonious blend of rich flavors, adding subtle notes of vanilla and a touch of sweetness, resulting in a well-rounded and elegantly balanced wine.

On the palate, juicy flavors of creamy cassis, macerated blackberry, cherry kirsch, black licorice, and peppery plum envelope the rich, saturated mouthfeel. This wine is smooth and silky with velvety tannins and a generous lengthy finish.

  • A Cab drinker’s Merlot!

    Nose: Cocktail cherries and sweet spice, with notes of savory bread, newly oiled leather and pronounced French oak.

    Palate: Smooth upon entry, with a richness that builds. Flavors of cherry, spice and savory bread carry over from the nose, with lush plums and a hint of jerky. Dusty, powdery tannins lend softness. French oak character comes through on the nose, palate and lingering finish.

The palate showcases fine, firm tannins alongside chocolate cherry lollipop, red plums, dried goji berries and toasted brioche. It is supple in texture and shows attractive depth on the finish.   • This is a dark, deeply colored wine with aromas of cherry, plum, blueberry, vanilla and a hint of licorice. There are juicy flavors of cassis, plum, black cherry, vanilla, blueberry, hints of oak and a slight floral note. This silky, textured wine is beautifully balanced with a long-structured finish.

  • Grapes for this Malbec are grown in the Andes Mountains of Argentina, then chilled and transported by ocean voyage to Caymus, where we use our winemaking techniques to create a style that is dense, dark and supple. Falling outside standard labeling rules, Red Schooner does not include a vintage date but is known by the voyage from which it traveled (i.e. Voyage 12 is the 2022 vintage). Strikingly smooth, with scents and flavors of dark fruit and fine, textural tannins.

  • In the glass there are loads of spicy, fruity aromas of dark fruits, blackberry, black cherry, black pepper, oak and a hint of vanilla. Sin Zin is a widely recognized California classic. This aromatic wine has a solid core of dark fruit with rich spicy flavors of black cherry and blackberry, topped with black pepper. Sin Zin is a luscious layered wine with great balance and a nice smooth finish.

  • Savory varietal notes of Cabernet Sauvignon are layered with the dark fruit character of Petite Sirah. The bouquet of cocoa powder, caramel, and anise works in harmony with the black cherry fruit signature of this wine. Bright and focused on the palate, with a firm and appetizing finish.

The entry is dominated by black plum preserves and freshly baked mixed berry morning bun with an energetic yet concentrated mid-palate. Soft and textured tannins give way to a lifted finish with a touch of pluot and dried tarragon.

    On the nose hints of black currant and blueberry lead into cedar, cardamom, and turmeric aromas. A full-bodied mouthfeel that has rich fruit notes of fresh black cherry and plum that finish with pistachio and baking spice flavors.

  • Aromas of violets, wild cherries and spice.  The Syrah and Mourvèdre are the perfect supporting cast, giving the wine depth, a bit of tannin and earthiness.

  • The Walking Fool is named after a long-ago relative who was often seen traveling by foot – thus earning this affectionate moniker. Featuring Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, this wine is smooth and lively, with juicy raspberry, notes of espresso and softly fine tannins.

    This is a great example of how American Oak influences wine aroma and flavor!

Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Notes of cedar and concentrated red fruit character that dance gracefully on the palate. With its ruby hue and smooth, polished tannins, this wine offers a harmonious blend of depth and nuance. Balanced acidity adds a refined touch to the long finish, with vibrant layers of fresh raspberry, cherry and cola.

  • Aromas of black cherry, mocha, with subtle hints of mint and floral. It delivers black cherry and cassis flavors dusted in dried earth and mixed spices. The wine is medium to full-bodied, silky and fine, with a long, lingering finish. It has classic Stags Leap District vibrancy and complexity.

  • Fun Fact: The Gryphon is the traditional symbol of Genoa, Italy, the birthplace of Louis Martini.

    The Gryphon was sourced from some of the most coveted vineyards in the Napa Valley, with a focus on the southern region to emphasize freshness and vibrancy. The fruit was hand-harvested and made in small fermenters at our winery. The wine underwent 19-month élevage in barrel (55% new French oak). 

  • Aromas of dark berries, baking spices, cocoa, tobacco, and leather. This is a full-bodied wine with complex aromas carry over onto the palate combined with layers of ripe black fruit and vanilla on the palate. and I find myself doing less sipping Velvety on the tongue and has a fulsome mouthfeel that leads to a balanced, satisfying finish.

    Blended from Cakebread’s special spots throughout the Napa Valley region, including the renowned cab appellations of Rutherford and Oakville, which impart classic Napa Valley bold fruit intensity, as well as the warmer Calistoga area to the north and the cooler southern reaches of the Suscol watershed, which contribute layers of complexity and depth of flavor.

    This wine reveals a fragrant, complex bouquet of ripe blackberry and boysenberry complemented by notes of dark chocolate and toasty oak. Rich and smooth on the palate, the sumptuous dark fruit is balanced by fresh acidity and lush tannins with a lingering, elegant finish and a hint of minerality.

  • This wine features dark cherry and dark plum aromas with hints of vanilla bean, Caramel and warm spice. Full bodied wine with sweet black fruit flavors, toasted oak, coconut and a hint of dried sweet tobacco. It has fine tannins and a pleasant astringency.
