Pinot Noir & Lighter-Bodied Reds

  • 100% Pinot Noir sourced from Beckstoffer & Sangiacomo Vineyards, along with the estate’s Lewis Vineyard.

Lively, focused and well-balanced, this wine lifts tangy raspberries and juicy black cherries with bright acidity and a light touch of tannin. Cardamon, clove, and black pepper nuances add beautiful complexity for an elegant finish.

  • Grapes are from the famous, world-recognized Dijon Clone.

    100% Pinot Noir

A tangy fresh cherry nose opens to cocoa, cola, and notes of nutmeg.

The juicy lip smacking entry shows lovely cherry and wild strawberry flavors with gorgeous rose petal and baking spices in the background. Smooth tannin and vibrant acidity make this a perfect wine for food pairings.

  • 100% Pinot Noir

Spicy strawberry character that is a hallmark of Monterey County Pinot Noir. Bright strawberry, raspberry, and watermelon fruit notes meld with clove and sagebrush on the nose. Delicate tannins on the mid-palate are complemented by camphor, dried cherry, and black tea on the finish.

  • Brought back by popular demand, this is a fan favorite.

Bold and rich tones layered with flavors of fresh strawberry cobbler and bramble accompanied by notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. This wine has rich tannins, nice concentration, depth, and natural acidity that expresses the authenticity of a Sonoma County Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

  • Gamay is a lot like Pinot Noir. It is often described as Pinot Noir’s younger sibling. Gamay is a natural cross of Pinot Noir and Gouais Blanc grapes.

Crafted in the Beaujolais style, is bright, fresh, and irresistibly drinkable. Picked early to preserve its natural acidity and highlight Gamay’s unique character, this wine maintains a lower alcohol while delivering expressive flavors of pomegranate, white pepper, and floral undertones.

  • Here is a “taste-alike” correspondence between this wine and the Platonic Goût de Provence of the same varietal. A unique quality imparted by the local underbrush, of lavender, rosemary and sage, notably — but perhaps also by a proximal pine forest. In any event, the wine is marked by its lively acidity, vivid pepperiness, with strong suggestion of black olive, violets, licorice and white flowers.

This wine will greatly benefit from decanting and a healthy exposure to air.

  • Dense, from its core to its edges. Intense, from its aromas to its flavors. Mysterious, from its layers to its deep brooding nature. This wine simply does not care what you think because it already knows you want more.

What makes Mencía special is it has shown the ability to age like other fine wines and it offers rich aromas in the glass. If you love Pinot Noir and other aromatic reds (like Gamay), then Mencía is something worth investigating.
