ABOUT THE LABEL:
The Pleiades, a prominent star cluster in the night sky, holds cultural significance in many indigenous cultures worldwide, often associated with agricultural cycles, navigation, and spiritual beliefs.
WHY WE'VE PICKED THIS WINERY: Through the careful research of many historians and scholars, it is now known that the first vines in California were planted by the Juaneno (Acjachemen) Indians at the Mission San Juan Capistrano in the year 1779. It is also known that the Mission Indians of each of the 21 Missions were the first winemakers of California. It’s with this connection that we honor the first winemakers of California, the Mission Indians and their NATIVE HANDS.
